Skater/Activist Nando Yiv hit me up recently for an interview / private viewing of some LOP artwork, and wrote a blog post about it at the Youth Noise site. Nando is making it happen, check it out…
Han Su is the director/primary filmer for Ogres and Milk 2, the second video from a crew of Claremont skaters who are also loosely known as the LOP interns. Style speaks for itself.
Well, 2009 was a booty-whomp by most considerations, but true to its nature the Land Of Plenty continues to enjoy and promote life and abundance. The LOP was started in 2002 as little more than an idea, but the power of the idea drew from two inexhaustible sources: skateboarding and art. These sources continue to prove that there is no end, no limit, no boundaries to the potential of human beings. As many times as skateboarding has felt burned out, exhausted, crushed, or tired, there has always been some individual who has come through and shown us all how an infinite amount of possibilities exist when minds are opened and hearts are on fire. This is the essence of art- not of limited definitions of commercial or popular art, but something broader- the act of creation, the revelation of something that did not exist before and now can no longer be denied. We are facing a new decade, and the possibilities are as limitless as they ever were. It will just take the inspiration and effort needed to draw them to the forefront of our minds, and our culture. Thanks to everyone who has supported us along the way. We will continue our mission, and our love for art, skateboarding, and friends will not be vanquished.

Director, The Land Of Plenty Skateboard Foundation
The Land Of Plenty has been around since 2002, and in that time we have given away hundreds of skateboards to skaters in need. Our primary program is The Board Exchange: we ask participating kids to paint a blank skateboard for our collection in return for a new deck of their own. We then sell these hand-painted boards to raise funds.
As it turns out, we have amassed a large amount of these painted boards, and have decided to clean house. In the next two weeks we will be donating 200 hand-painted skateboard decks to skaters around the world. For this, we are asking only one thing: we need donation money to ship these boards. If you believe in the LOP, if you have ever wanted to help out, if you have ever wanted to contribute to help get skateboard equipment to children in challenged situations, this is your chance. We don’t need product, we don’t need your time, we don’t need you to buy anything from us. All we need is to raise a few hundred dollars to ship these boards to skaters in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Hawaii, Apache Country, New York, Pakistan, and Thailand.
Take this opportunity to donate using the PayPal link below, and feel free to send an email to go@thelandofplenty.org and let us know who you are, and why you are down. Every dollar helps, and we truly appreciate your generosity. There will be 200 kids around the world who will appreciate your help as well. Peace.
Doug Miles and the crew at Apache Skateboards are brewing up their latest celebrato, this year’s Always Faithful comp, number 2. As part of our great skate giveaway, the LOP has donated 80 hand-painted skateboards, meaning that every skater who enters will be going home with a custom deck. Yeah! If you are in the South West, check this one out:
Party People: LOP friends Billie Stone and Rob Meinhardt ( downtoride.com ) are finalizing the auction of their scary installation at the world famous Chango’s coffee shop in Echo Park. I’ve seen it, I get my coffee there, and it is amazing. You still have a few days to stop by and make a bid! They are donating 50% of the proceeds to the also world famous Land Of Plenty Skateboard Foundation! Nice! Winner announced at the Halloween party! Dress up like a Wu Tang Zombie and come check out the madness…
Check it out, Aryeh Kraus (LOP team Am) rides for Nine Star skate shop in West LA, and they are defending their gold medal from last year.
