| On December 11th, 2005, the Land Of Plenty had its first Board Show and Public Auction Fundraiser at the Brooklyn Projects Skateshop, on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. 50+ original skateboards were on display, handpainted by both guest professional skaters/artists and youth participants in the LOP Board Exchange. Mr. Dope America spun records, BP provided the bar, Fuel TV covered the event, all while a session went down on the mini ramp out back. We raised some intial funds for the LOP Board Exchange with a silent board auction, raffle, and limited edition tshirt sales. The event was a huge success, drawing a big crowd of heavy hitters, and everyone had a good time. The following pics are from the festivities, email The LOP if you have any pictures or video from the event that we could post here.
Lots of people showed up. On the right you will notice Reza Bahador, Hapkido instructor and LOP boardmember, being interviewed by Chris Pastras and the Fuel TV camera crew.
Some of the boards in the show. Left to Right: Bret Banta, Jason Rogers, Eric Dressen, Rich Jacobs, Andy Jenkins, Jiro Yaguchi, Gomez Bueno, Geoff Mcfetridge, Donny Barley, Greg Shewchuk. These boards are currently on display at Brooklyn Projects while the auctions are going down.
Master Carpenter Sal Barbier lent his hand to the cause of resurfacing the ramp for the event. That's Aryeh Kraus on the right, major contributor to the LOP, and active particpant in the Board Exchange.
Some serious skating went down, treating the overflow crowd to quite a show. I don't know this kid's name (email if you do), but he skated all night long and tore it up. This is before the session even started.
The ever-smooth Mr. Dope America of One Block Radius spun records and kept the party popping.
Star of The Captain and Casey show on Fuel, Chris Casey, poses with his donated board. He covered his deck in dirt and grass. Title: Dirt Board. Chris is an artist.
Jason Rogers and Emily Marshall. Jason was another guest participant in the show, and his Ripper board was one of the highlights. We will be auctioning it online soon. Jason also took care of business out back, he's a favorite to watch skate.

Doug Miles of Apache Skateboards, and Greg Shewchuk, President of the Land Of Plenty Skateboard foundation, mug it up. That's Doug's board in the middle, which he generously donated to the cause.
Jiro Yaguchi, tattoo artist at Routes in downtown LA, posing with his board. Another show favorite. Check the Brian Lotti board behind him on the right, with the bolt hole pasties.
Chad Muska's board was up for raffle, and everyone was buying tickets. After giving out some runner-up tshirts, the winning ticket was held by... Geoff Mcfetridge! Another artist in the show. Geoff was stoked. Heads unite.
Session lineup. Barley on the far left, Muska on the far right, Sal, Bennet, Brandon, Aryeh, Osmaan, and many more in between and elsewhere.
Aryeh bomb dropping into the ramp. Thanks to everyone for making it out, and making it happen. We'll do it again soon- look for updates on the site, sign up for the email list, and keep your eye on LOP on ebay as all of the boards in this show are being auctioned off 10 at a time to raise money for the LOP Board Exchange, 2006. Peace.
